Who will be the first to document 100 bu/A soybeans in KY?

Carrie KnottExtension Agronomist-Princeton, University of Kentucky

Beginning this year there are two new awards for the Kentucky Soybean Production Contest: Kentucky 100-Bushel Club and Kentucky Double-Crop 80-Bushel Club.
We are confident Kentucky producers are hitting the 100-bushel mark in full-season soybeans and 80-bushels for double-crop. However, documentation of these remarkably yields has been elusive. That is why the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service and the Kentucky Soybean Promotion Board are partnering to provide some incentives.

The first producer to document at least 100 bu/A full-season soybeans in Kentucky will receive a $3,000 cash award and two jackets embroidered with "Kentucky 100 Bushel Club".  The first producer to document at least 80 bu/A double-crop soybeans will receive a $1,500 cash award and two jackets embroidered with "Kentucky Double-Crop 80 Bushel Club".

Cash awards and jackets will be provided by the Kentucky Soybean Promotion Board. All entries will be verified through participation in the Kentucky Soybean Production Contest administered by the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service.
